Discipleship
Come grow with us …….

New Member Discipleship Classes
The purpose of our New Member Discipleship Classes is to provide an orientation so that visitors and new members may, without difficulty, find and know ones place in the body of Christ and function to the glory of God. These four classes will enrich your understanding of the Bible and of the Christian faith. Classes are located downstairs in the Sanctuary room 108 each Saturday at 9:00AM and each Sunday at 9:30AM.
Spiritual Gifts Analysis
Every Christian has received from the Holy Spirit a certain gift or gifts. God has give each of us the ability to do certain things well. In this way, the Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of building the entire Church. It then becomes our Christian duty to put these gifts into action for the benefit of the Kingdom (Romans 12:4-10). The gift analysis is an exercise to help you discover what your spiritual gift(s) might be.
Christian Enrichment
As a bridge between New Member Discipleship classes and Studies in Christian Living, Christian Enrichment is designed to further introduce you to the essentials of the Christian faith. This nine (9) week study course is designed for both the new believer and the seasoned Christian. Upon completion of this course, we believe you should be more familiar with the precepts of the Christian faith, thereby stronger in your walk with Christ.
Crusader Ministry
Being grounded in the basic doctrines of the church is critical for the success of new believers and Crusaders serve a critical role in the success of making disciples. As individuals who have a zeal and passion for finding a remedy for the intolerable loss of disciples in the body of Christ, we know a simple act of human intervention can go a long way towards helping someone to become spiritually mature and fulfilled. Therefore, we endeavor to befriend and assist new disciples in their assimilation into the Fellowship of our congregation.
Community Concerns
The Community Concerns Ministry is particularly concerned about local and national disparities in education, health, voter registration and political participation, gang and crime prevention, police/community relations, the delivery of municipal services, and community responsibility and involvement. We encourage Bayview Disciples to join community organizations which results in the church’s greater influence in civic affairs that affect the welfare of the church family and our community.
Pastor’s Prayer Partners
This vital ministry is comprised of faithful men and women that volunteer once a month to pray during the sermon hour. Our primary mission is to pray for Pastor as he preaches the Word of God; the congregation as they hear the Word; the lost souls who would hear and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; and for those that are out of fellowship to return to the body for service. |
