Bayview Chancel Choir
The Bayview Chancel Choir’s responsibility is to let the Word of Christ dwell in us all by teaching and admonishing one another through songs, hymns and spiritual songs while singing with grace unto the Lord or God. We will accomplish this by being committed individuals. We will also educate ourselves though the Word of the Lord, constant prayer, community outreach and quarterly educational workshops.
The Bayview Chancel Choir is Directed by Norma Johnson, Bayview's Minister of Music and conducted by Sis. Linda Logan, the Chancel Choir (ages 18 and over) provides worshipful music every 1st and 4th Sunday. If your Spiritual Gifts Analysis shows that you have the gift of song and you think that you might be interested in joining the Chancel Choir, please stop by any Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm. As Colossians 3: 16-17 says, "Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs; singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the the name of the Lord Jesus giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
We rehearse weekly on Tuesday at 7pm in the sanctuary and sing the Lord’s Praises every 1st and 4th Sunday.
Bayview Music Institute (BMI)
BMI utilizes an onsite computer lab for individual instruction in keyboarding techniques. The piano lab consists of 32 digital Kawasaki pianos and two teacher stations, with two mounted note visualizers. Each piano includes individual headsets. Lessons for both adults and children are offered each week. Adults are taught by Linda Logan on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Saturday classes are taught by Norma Johnson.
Recitals, to showcase individual student achievement, are held twice a year (Spring and Winter). Please call Bayview for scheduling and details on session fees.
Expressions of Joy (EOJ)
This choir’s name suggests what kind of music it produces. All music is age appropriate and exciting. Rehearsals are each week on Tuesday; 6:00pm -7:15pm in preparation to sing on each 3rd Sunday at 11AM Service.
EOJ Choir rehearsal is structured for both understanding of the scripture that inspires the music and for fun and fellowship. The choir is lead by an experienced director, Felicia Blaylock and supported by a wide array of dedicated adult volunteers.
Season’s of Praise
Under the Direction of Steven T. Beard, this ministry exists in accordance with Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. We are an adult praise dance ministry; believing that our bodies can be used as instruments to praise God and draw people to Christ though dance.
Wee meet on Monday and Thursday evenings, 5:30pm-8:00pm in MLK 201.

Theatre Group
Our Theatrical Ministry Produces seasonal projects for Black History, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Resurrection Day, President’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. This group is made up of children & youth and adults. Rev. Pete Zindler and wife, Adelaide head this ministry. Notification of the next performance is pending. |
